These minimalist servers are a playful result of Daniel’s ongoing interest in, and engagement with, basic modernist design principles. These servers aim to embody and communicate two central modernist ideas: that simple forms emerge in relation to the intended function of the object; and that objects should be stripped of any unnecessary ornamental quality, illuminating the inherent beauty of the material used.
This piece is handcrafted from reclaimed oak and finished with pure tung oil and beeswax.
Please note that your pair of servers are entirely unique. This means that the color and grain of your servers may differ slightly from the product images seen here. These variations are immanent to the material of wood and symbolic of its complexity and beauty.
We hope that you enjoy this piece in your home as much as we do.
